Police: Update for June – Cholsey

Due to an amazingly warm, dry, July we have seen an increase in young people out and about. We have had a few reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) and vandalism and are following up enquiries relating to this. We have seen the popular outdoor areas at their busiest and we are doing our best to patrol these areas during peak times. Anyone owning canoes or boats please be advised that they can attract unwanted guests in this weather. Keep them safe and secure, using alarms if possible.

We have seen an increase in reports of elderly, vulnerable people needing our assistance and would ask neighbours to keep an eye on these people. We encourage the public to ring us if they are concerned about anyone as we can add them to our list of vulnerable people who we visit on a regular basis.

We will, as always, monitor the parking in Cholsey. The areas affected are Ferry Lane, Ilges Lane, Station Road, Papist Way, West End, Sandy Lane and Church Road. £30 Fixed Penalty Notices have been issued to illegally parked vehicles. Please ensure if you are parking your vehicle that you are aware of any parking restrictions in place and that you are not parked in a way that will cause obstruction to other road users and pedestrians.
